Support the Steamboat Tuscarora!
Commissioned in 1900 by William West Durant, the Tuscarora traveled from Marion River Carry through Utowana, Eagle, and Blue Mountain Lakes, delivering visitors to hotels and lakefront estates. In 1934, the Tuscarora became part of the Graham family’s camp, perched on land in their yard along the shore of Blue Mountain Lake. Recognized as an important part of Adirondack history, the 1772 Foundation awarded a grant to the Friends of the Tuscarora in 2023 for a feasibility study and National Park Service Historic American Engineering Record documentation. The Friends now seek funding to support relocating the Tuscarora to a more public setting for interpretation and reuse.
